Urgent!! Plz help - B2 Visa extension

Hi,
My grandmother has come on B2 visa to visit me for 6 months and her I94 expires on April 17th. I've applied for her visa extension for 3 months on feb 13th 08' in CSC. I've got the receipt but didn't get the decison yet.when i called the service center yesterday, they said it"ll take another 2 months to hear the decision. By the time we get to know the decision her I94 expires.
My queries are:-

1. Is she eligible to stay legally till she gets to know the decision?
2. In case if she is eligible to stay and her extension gets rejected, when should she leave US?

Appreciate your replies. I am eagerly waiting to know your responses.
 
1.- Yes.
2.- If she stays past the I-94 date and the extension is denied, she will have 30 days to leave the US. However, you must know that her visa may be cancelled next time she tries to use it to enter the US.
 
I cannot answer 2. but my mom was in a similar predicament. We applied for an extension for medical reasons (her doctor sent a letter ) and it took months to get a response. If fact the response came on the same day she left to go back to my country and way past the I-94 expiration date. We sent all the documents to her and she brought them with her the next time she came to visit and they let her in. I'm thinking they were aware that she did not overstay for pleasure and it was not her fault that she did not receive the extension on time.
