hi all,

i am already in usa on L1 visa. i applied for H1 visa through new employer, whom i will join once it is approved.

my case was in vermont service center, it was transferred to texas service center on 30th aug'06.

on 20th sep'06, i got 2 emails from uscis. 1st email said that a notice asking for additional info about my H1 case was sent on the same day (20th sep).

2nd email said that my family's H4 case had been approved.

my questions are:
1) what kind of additional info is usually asked for?
2) does it impact the approval of the case in any way?
3) how come the dependent H4 is approved when the main H1 is still pending? is it possible for such a thing to happen?

any help is much appreciated.

thanks in advance,

Your employer will received the queries. Probably missing some documentation. There will not by any bad effect of that. If your employer answers the questions satisfactory. Sometime, H1 and H4 are not linked, so it happens, but when you go for stamping, they'll ask for new h1.

my employer answered the query. the missing information was about consulate for stamping, which was not applicable since i am already in usa.

reply was rcvd at uscis on 16th oct and my case was approved on 20th oct.

thx everyone for the help.
