Urgent!! Please respond. Status issue

I got my passport stamped recently. immediately after that I came on to bench. My employer is not paying now and asked me to look for job in some other company. What will be the implications if i leave or company fires me. What options do i have. Please respond!! Thanks.

No problem at all. If they fire you get compensation and search for jobs. You can switch immediately, right now....

You got your GC stamped so whats your problem to leave your employer when your employer cannot pay you.
Dont worry about anything . Once you get your GC it does not matter if you were out of job for many months.
take your time and find a job or if you have lots and lots of money just sit back,relax and enjoy your day.

Rkark,

Make sure you get a letter of termination ( Pink Slip ) if they lay you off. Never resign yourself. If they are laying you off insist that they give you a layoff letter. That will keep you in the green as far as INS is concerned. If you are layed off, look for another job and don\'t worry. It is good that you did not come on bench before the stamping. If you resign, then INS can question your action of leaving immediately after stamping ( of course, AC21 may negate the ill-effects of that ).

As always consult with an attorney if required. The other aspect of insisting that you be given a termination letter is that the company may threaten to revoke your GC if you do so because the company will be in INS\'s bad books if it layed an employee off after the employee got the GC. I think AC21 makes it impossible for the employer to do that, but consult a good attorney on this issue before you do anything!!!.

Above is my opinion only and I could be wrong. As always check with a good attorney.
 
Lay off before 180 days

PLease help.

Got my EAD and FP done.

I am getting laid off just short of 180 days...by 12 days.
I cannot extend it either.
My company will notify INS about my layoff but will not revoke my
I-140 petetion.
1) PLease let me know if I need to get any information from my
company ?
like need a termination letter...any particular format or
information ?

2) Can I start working at other company even before 180 days as there is a possibility of getting a job.

PLease let me know as what measures I should take or what information I should collect from my company.
