I have only got an email for approvals yesterday. I have not received any approval notice in hand yet. I am leaving for india in 2 days. Is there any problem if I travel on AP and go for stamping after I come back from India (after a month)? Please help. URGENT.

If I have not received approval notice in hand, how am I supposed to know that I am approved (apart from web site which everyone doesn't do)?

Can I say that it was not known to me that I was approved before I left for INDIA? I got approval notice in postal mail after I came back.

I AM REALLY WORRIED. YOUR HELP IS APPRECIATED. PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.........

I dont know, but my lawyer says "do not under any circumstances depart US without the approved and valid AP on hand, otherwise will have some serious problems entering back. May be you can change your tickets or rearrange traveling dates?

I have a valid and approved AP. Sorry for the confusion - I was referring to 485 approval.

Should be OK -- after all its reasonable to expect that you'll know about your approval only after getting the postal mail.

There have been quite a few folks here that've used AP to travel and re-enter just after their 485 approval.

Should be fine .... given that your approval came only like 3 days before your trip ....
make sure you have your AP - you'll be given deferred inspection when you come back.
