URGENT --- Permit/Visa to Tijuana, Mexico--

Hi,
I'm going to Tijuana for a F1 to H1 visa stamping. Do I need a permit or a Visa? In general, how long does the consulate take to give us the passport with the VISA stamped (the same day or the next or even more)? Please respond ASAP as i need to make arrangements if needed. Thanks in advance

I just wanted to make sure that you already booked your VISA appointment slot because your response doesn't sound so and there are no dates available in May right now.

Many thanks for the response. Yes, you are correct, I am yet to book for the appointment. I could take a chance in case of cancellation. Is this the site where one has to take the appointment https://www.visa-usa.com.mx/purchase_pin.aspx. Please confirm. What all docs required.

It will take 3 weeks to get mexican visa/permit. Please call 714-835-0042 mexican consulate Santa Ana. They will answer any question u do have.

From what I read in other posts on this forum, you don't really need a Mexican permit. You just say (if they ask) you are going to US Consulate. I have an appointment on May 3rd and I am planning to go without a Mexican permit.

I'd read in the forums that we do not need any visa/permit but nobody was sure abt it. Also, some say "Border officials MAY not ask" but I wasn't sure about how the chances of their asking are and so was atleat trying to gather as much info as possible in this regard. Also, can you email me about your travel plans to Tijuana. That would be helpful as I'll be going a day before yours.

Yes, that is the website I used to book my appointment. U might get a visa appointment if u keep trying because I got mine pretty recently. Gud luc.
About the documents, I'm still in the process. I'll let you know in sometime soon.
