Urgent: Passport stamping without 485 approval notice

I would really appriciate it if someone can share his experience o insight on this. I tried some searhing on this site without much avail.

The situation is that we got the approval notice by email yesterday. However, my wife had to leave the country to finish up her study in England on Tuesday (8/24). We definitely won't be able to receive the approval notice in the mail before then. Although my wife has an advance parole, it will be expired in a week.

Has anyone ever been able to obtain the passport stamp WITHOUT the notice?

And what are the documents needed for the stamping interview? The typical documents needed, as I found in a search, includes the passport, I94, AP, EAD, and Photos. I wonder if anything else is missing from the list. Is the employment letter needed?

Try with e-mail notice. Some got it done that way.
No, you don't need employment letter.

Good luck!!! :)

I also remeber reading that someone from Virginia had successfully stamped his/her passport by showing a copy of the email. I would suggest to take a printout of the email and also the print out from "case status service" (where you type your EAC no. and it says it's approved). This person from Virginia mentioned in his email that local office has a system where they can check the info. that you're indeed approved.
I took a courtesy copy from the BCIS and got my PP stamped. Original notice is still seating at lawyer's office.

Documents you mentioned in your email are IT. No other documents or Employer Letter needed.

As others said, try your luck with print outs of Email and Web site. Their decision depends on their willingness to help. Try to pursuade them and you may get the nod.
Good Luck.

How is your wife proposing to leave the country if AP is expiring in a week- you can't do that- that is NO NO NO. To travel on AP you need an approved AP before travelling and that has to be valid till returning back.

For stamping the minimum documents are Passport + I-94 + 2 pictures- frontal (write name and A# on back with pencil) + Approval Notice.

Try your luck at local office- reach real early + several people have reported doing it with just email notice.

Thanks a lot for all your advice!

We actaully went to the local office in Philly's on Friday. To my surprise, the system there has not been updated and the record still showed "not approved". However, they were willing to accept the email print out in a situation like ours.

We are going back and try out luck again on Monday . I will keep you posted.

Cheers!

P.S. We have been aware of the AP regulations. My wife return to Philly's hoping to renew her AP on the ground of emergency. Technically speaking Emergency AP is only issued in a situation associated with medical problem or life and death. But we have no other choice because she has go back and take some exams in two weeks. Fortunately, the 485 was approved on the day she came back. And we now have this new development. --life isn't easy

So we got the stamp for her...but not without a big fight.

On Monday when we returned to the Philly's Office, the officer insisted that (1) We CANNOT get the stamping without the approval letter and (2) we CANNOT get emergency AP unless someone in the family is dead or dying.

We told her that we spoke with two officers on Friday and they both agreed to issue the stamp if the status of apprval was confirmed in the local database. We found one of the officers, but she completely changed her story. What a disaster!

By the time we were going to give up, we saw the other officer we met on Friday, and fortunately, she admitted that she had agreed to stamp the passport if the status had been confirmed.

In the end, they stamped my wife's passport.
