Hello,
I need some urgent help for H1B start date for year 2008
My friends OPT starts in May 2007 and ends in May 2008, He has masters degree but have not found any job yet.
If consultant files his H1B this month for 2008 quota, Can he give starting date of H1B as May 2008? (earliest date to apply for H1 seems 6 month before start date. If thats true, then h1b quota will not be available in December'07)
If "Yes", then can he transfer that visa to other company before May 2008?
(Incase he finds better job early next year and decides to leave consultant.)
If he dont file for H1B this year but do file next year, he will not be able to work between May 2008 to Oct 2008. Does he has to leave country and come back after stamping?
