Urgent: Need Help!!!

I just noticed that my H1 got expired on mar-2001 I forgot to send it for renewal, It\'s been 5 months late, my I485 Receipt Date is Oct 16 2000,
Is it going to effect my GC approval. Please let me know.

Do you have an EAD? If not, you are not in status since Mar 2001. The way to fix this is to pay $1000. Talk with you lawyer ASAP and discuss this with him.

You are Okay

You are okay as long as you filed your I-485. You can not be out of status if you applied for AOS, but your company can get fine because they were paying although you were not on H1 from mar-2001 to today.
If you have EAD, then no problem at all... for you and for your company... You need to renew or get new H1 asap.

This makes me feel better. I heard that once we apply for I485, if at all H1 get expires, no way i can renew it, only can apply for EAD. Do you think it make sense.

G-man, What you say is true. Once applied for 485, you are in status. I stand corrected.

Problem is Keerthana you should not have worked without EAD or H1. Which means you were working illegaly. You can pay $1000 fine to fix that. But get this fixed ASAP.
 
I have my EAD.

I was never told by my lawyer that I received my EAD long time back, When I was talking to him today he said that I have my EAD. Anyway now I am in Safe situation.
