Hi - I have a urgent question..as my H1 is getting expired..

If a consulting company has applied for a green card for me in one state in the U.S., can another company apply for the me in another state? If yes, what are the implications or possible problems that might arise?

Please advise.

Thanks

Hi - I have a urgent question. as my H1 is getting expired..
---- File H1 extension before H1 expires or before expiry of I-94 if hitting 6 year then apply for 7th year H1 extension if LC by ANY employer pending more than 365 days and you have evidence
Or I-140 pending
or I-485 pending
If a consulting company has applied for a green card for me in one state in the U.S., can another company apply for the me in another state?
----- YES, you can have many LC filed for you or many I-140 filed for you, GC is for Future job
If yes, what are the implications or possible problems that might arise?
---- I don’t see any problems from your post as it is general question if you post you correct scenario then you will get correct answer depending on your situation and what you want to achieve. You should provide the complete info about your current status or any LC, I-140 or I-485 filed or what is filed, it will help others and will understand your question.

Ginnu,
What are the real advantages of filing 7th year extension? My Six years will be expired in March 2004 and my I-140 and I-485 are still pending. Till now, I don't plan to file for 7th year extension.

And also If I file H1B from my current company and after getting my I-140 approval, if I change the employer using AC21 (before getting 7th year extension), Will any problem arise in getting 7th year extension?

Thanks for your help,
naanshi.

Ginnu,
What are the real advantages of filing 7th year extension?
----- if I-140 denied then you will have 7th year H1 extension to stay and work( if you file now the 7th year extension with I-140 pending receipt and then 7th year H1 extension is approved and later I-140 is denied you will still have that 7th H1 extension as valid)
My Six years will be expired in March 2004 and my I-140 and I-485 are still pending. Till now, I don't plan to file for 7th year extension.
----- If I am in your situation I will file 7th year H1 extension ASAP, just attach the I-140 filing receipt or I-485 filing receipt with 7th year H1 extension. I know your I-140 has PD of September 2003 and it may get approved by March 2004 but keep back up of 7th year H1 extension to be filed.
And also If I file H1B from my current company and after getting my I-140 approval, if I change the employer using AC21 (before getting 7th year extension), Will any problem arise in getting 7th year extension?
------ You will file 7th year H1B extension through current company and if I-140 gets approved and you want to use AC21 then if 7th year H1 is approved you can join new employer by H1 transfer or with EAD (I hope you have EAD). If 7th year H1 does not get approved when your I-140 gets approved and you don’t want to wait for 7th year H1 approvals notice to arrive then you are free to use EAD and join new employer with EAD.
