Urgent..Missed on FP Deadline - Never received the notice....

Hi, Today I just came to know that I missed on the FP Notice that they sent out to my old Address (even though I updated my address to INS - called them up and also filed AR-11). Even the lawyer says he receievd it today even though the appointment day was October 25th. Experts please suggest as to what are my options --- what should I do??? I need to know my options on an urgent basis --- as I am afraid of my I--485 getting denied because of this....

Experts please help...

don't worry at all. in the apointmenet notice that u got they say in the middle of it that if u missed ur FP apointment on the stated date u can go do it in 1 specifief day a week for the next 3 months.look for that day in ur receipt. u will be fine. don't panic.
 
As far as I know, you don't have to worry it.
I remember my attorney's secretary talked to me, "If you can't go to a local CIS for fp'ing on the appointment day, you can go for fp'ing there during their business time any day since that day. You should phone to ask CIS of fp'ing business time before you go."

Thanks antonioa77, but in the notice that I have they have'nt mentioned this. Infact they have stated that "Please appear at the below application support center at the date and time specified. If you fail to appear as scheduled, your application will be considered abandoned. " And this is what's really bothering me a lot..as I am worried that my I-485 might get denied because of this...

Thanks federalway, but I do not have the original FP notice with me - just a fax copy that the lawyer sent to me today (as he received the notice today only). Would that still be OK for me going over there with a fax copy of the notice.

Another thing that I am concerned about is that I moved from Boston to Ithaca, NY almost 6 months back - and I notified via phone as well via ar-11 (have the receipts as well) - but it seems that they sent out the FP notice to the Boston address - which got returned back to them - i think that this might have been the case as to FP notice had appointment for Boston ASC when in fact it should have been somwhere near the place I currently live (Ithaca, NY) - like Buffalo, Syracuse etc... Once I go over there should I bring up this issue about the address.. ??
 
As long as you can bring the notice, it doesn't matter which ASC you appear to have the fp done. But as for missing the deadline, in the worse case, they may deny, then you'll have to re-open the case. You may start getting prepared for that.

I almost missed my last fp deadline exactly the same way. Luckily the letter bounced back from my old address to TSC and they re-sent to my correct address, and I got it 1 or 2 days before the date.

Unfortunately, we have no control over this. Well we have, just don't change address until this nightmare is over (but that's not realistic).

I personally know a friend who had the same siyuation. Don't worry at all. Ask your lawer to send out the original notice to you. You may get it on Monday or Tuesday. Go to the nearest centre where you live currently and get it done. Let me assure you, it's not a big deal at all. Be cool.

In fact few weeks back one of my coleague got the notice after the FP date. he just went to the ASC and got it done....

Do it as soon as you get the original notice
 
Hello All, Thanks for your suggestions. I just took the fax copy of the notice that I had and went to the ASC that they had on the notice. They did my FPs without asking anything - not even the original notice.
