Hi Guys,

I posted my conversation with the IIO today morning regarding EAD Renewal. My plan was to go to Boston INS for renewing my EAD, but in the same thread GC012002 advised me not to go and to send it to VSC. As per the form I should send it to VSC. He of course, has some valid points, but now I am in a confused state :(

Around the 18th of Sep 2002 PhasGaya had posted that he had been to Boston INS to renew his spouse's EAD and AP and that he could do it there without any problems. I think Lamborgini also posted that he renewed his EAD at Boston, although first time was at Vermont.

My question was:
If I go to Boston INS to renew my EAD, and if they refuse saying that I have to apply to VSC for renewal, would it result, in my case being transferred to local INS office (as per GC012002)?

Kindly advise ASAP as I am planning to renew EAD by this weekend and I promise that I will post my experience no sooner I am done... :) :)

No Idea... All I can say is that my spouse's EAD/AP were initially filed at VSC, and we did the renewal at Boston without problems. I don't know anything about transfer of case to local office. I hope thats not the case

Thank You

Thanks a lot Phas Gaya, you are my man...

I think I will go to Boston INS and see if it can be renewed. If it can't be renewed, then they will inform so..

Logically speaking, I don't think Boston, INS will call up VSC and tell them that - "Hey, this guy came to renew his EAD here and now you have to transfer his case here, so that we can deal with him.. (read that as screw him :) ).

Any more advice is most welcome...

Thanks

you'll be fine.

I too looked at that paragraph which said that if you have applied to VSC, you should apply to VSC and said "hmmmmm.... now what - well what the heck let me give it a shot". And I did. And I got my EAD extended without any problem (I mentioned that in my post on 09/10).

There is no reason to suspect that your case will get transferred to local office because of extending EAD there... I haven't heard of anything like this happening before...

so cheer up, relax and go get them tiger :) :)

I have been a silent surfer these days - it's been good to keep my eyes away from this board (it was getting really addicting. I had posted 100 odd posts in like 1 year and then had posted 100 odd posts in 3 weeks in september - guess the "july16 gene" had kicked in :D), took some much needed R&R, went for a friend's wedding etc. etc. After all I know a day will come when I will get approved and then over the course of the next few months after that all my "batchmates" a.k.a. people with RD's around me will get approved... and I will check this board less and less frequently untill one day I will realize "hey! I haven't logged in on immigrationportal.com in months" - but that time is still ways away

untill then I remain yours truly

Thanks Lamborgini and PhasGaya,

Lamborgini, I recollected reading your post on the renewal, but was confused the whole day today. Anyway both of you lightened my worries...

Same here, I come in to office at 0815 hours, start my other computer whose screen is visible to me only, and get on immigrationportal.com I have been doing this for the past 1 year and have got kind of addicted to it. Very rarely work pressures have stopped me from reading posts. As far as posting myself, only when I had some info for others or when I had questions.

I too wonder, what will I do when I get GC? Will I come to this board, will I post here? I do not know right now, only time will tell..

But one thing is for sure, I am going to get really drunk, the way I used to get drunk in Engg. college, when I get GC.

Cheers, viva JWBL, viva Bacardi, viva Smirnoff, viva CR and long live immigrationportal..
