urgent: laid off 3.5 month into 485

laid off 3.5 month into 485 VSC, EB2. had recv\'ed 485 Receipt Notice.
what are my best options? please advice.
 
since it\'s 2.5 short of 180 days (since RD of 485), would it be okay
if the company can put me on unpaid family leave for another 3 month
then *officially* lay me off? it\'s killing me the very thought of
starting the whole Green Card process all over again :-(
The downside of unpaid leave of absence is that I won\'t be
eligible for Unemployment Insurance and can\'t start a new job
even I could find one, during the period, right?
Any better alternatives/ideas? Anything I should know during
the difficult time? Should I get any doc (employment doc) from
the current employer in anticipation of a possible RFE when
the process is carried over to the new company (after 180 days,
if I find one ;-)? THanks a lot, group. You are more

Nothing in AC21 says that you cannot start a new job immediatly.
Note that AC21 only states that \'I-485 should not have
been adjudicated within 180 days". Therefore if INS adjudicates
your case in the remainin 2.5 months, is very doubtful.
Also note that it is 180 days, which means 4 days short of 6 months.
Consult a competent immigration attorney to discuss your actions.
Regarding un-employment insurance, according to Sheela Murthy\'s
chat site, you better off NOT taking it because it is a govt. aided
insurance and INS may consider you to be "public dole" if you
use it. Again check with your immigration attorney for advice!

How did you calculate the days ? Is it days counted from the Receipt Date or the days counted from the Postal Submission Date (as evident from Courier tracking data) ?

Also talk to your lawyer, to confirm that.
