This is in regard to the recent July Visa Bulletin Fiasco that caused a great deal of emotional, physical and financial pains to you.

You came here with a dream, called the great American dream. For several years, you have worked towards it by studying here, by paying your taxes in time, by following every rules and laws of the land , by supporting the country in your own way and standing with it for every just cause. But the recent July Visa Bulletin Fiasco demonstrates how well you are being rewarded for being true to this country.

Let's face it , for many of us, this thing is greater than any academic exams or degrees that one had in past. I myself have an MBA from a top US school and several highly recognized certifications under my belt. Many times, the very career in the US hinges on being able to work without any restriction. Your future plans depend on it and you spend many years just in endless waiting. Things like buying a house become a big dilemma. Many of us have a spouse on a dependant visa, who like us are well educated and competent but is unable to work because as per the immigration law, generally, there is no provision of employment authorization for the dependents.

These are all practical problems, which saw a chance to get resolved on June 13th , when July visa bulletin was published. But on July 2nd the hopes were dashed by irresponsible and potentially illegal acts of the department of state (DOS) and USCIS. Simply put, several us may now have to wait for several years before the priority dates become current again.

Per July visa bulletin, eligible people underwent a medical exam, which cost them around $500 for each family member and took at least two visits to doctor’s office. These costs are not covered by insurance companies. In addition, the lawyer’s fees are around $1000 per family member. So for a family of three would have spent around $4,500 excluding USCIS filling fees, which is another $2000.

I believe, we can do something about it. AILF (www.aila.org) is planning to file a lawsuit and working on details. But in the meanwhile there are few things that we can do at our end to support this just cause. We have to make America aware of our situation and injustice done by DOS and USCIS

=>Objective first is to make this story the most e-mailed and recommended one so that it is on top of the news site. This will help draw attention of other news channels. So please recommend this story with 5 stars with as many Yahoo accounts as possible.

=>Second, Fill Out the litigation form available on http://www.murthy.com/nflash/nf_062907.html and either send it to your lawyer or to Ron Gotcher of www.imminfo.com (He volunteered to be the point of contact)

=>Third, send e-mails to news channels with story of your pain and sufferings.

=>Fourth, at appropriate time, and when advised by AILA, we will approach congressmen and senators. The hope is that by that time we will have accumulated enough media interest to draw politician's interests too.

Thanks

Its a good idea to get Media Attention

I have forwarded to the Local TV Stations and my friends

I don't think the USCIS is the bad guy here , is more the DOS mistake. Most lawyers won't sue because is a waste of time and money.

But TV MUST REPORT THIS! Pepole need to know, so our goverment feels pressure to do something.
Remember the GC is a privilege not a right.

Clarification

In the form one of the eligibility criteria is "USCIS letter rejecting the adjustment application". My lawyer didn't send papers to USCIS after learning the news on Monday. To become eligible plaintiff do we need to send papers and get rejection notice?
