Hi all,

Please throw some light on this topic.

This is for a friend...

Is it okay to send a \'Duplicate Response\'(evidence) to INS… one from the attorney and the other from the applicant? The friend doesn’t have the ‘copy of RFE Letter’ and going to MENTION only her Alien/Case number in the ‘Enclosing Letter’ and on top of the envelope as “Response to RFE”. Is this okay?

If she calls the INS will they be able to give the “Reference Number” to the recent RFE?

PS: The reason to do this is my friend is NOT sure whether her attorney has responded to the evidence asked for or not.

Will this have any side effects on her GC process? Friend has and can ONLY send Photo-copies of evidence asked for. Is\'t okay?

Does any body had done something similar (Or) Experienced similar experiences. Any of your valuable feed back would be highly appreciated and helpful.

Thanks
Princess

Hi,

Sending a duplicate response is ok...but, say for example, INS asked
for an employment letter, they would be anticipating an original...

Also, sending a duplicate response as you suggested (with the envelope clearly marked as such) will help...but, would take more time to reach the concerned officer (how much time...is anybody\'s guess) than a response sent back with the original RFE...

If the attorney is cooperative...ask the attorney to send a copy
of the RFE (which would have a barcode on it)...and then your friend
can send that along with the photocopies (of the documents INS is asking for) he/she has...there is precedence to this...search for
user \'dan dan\'. He had a similar problem...his first RFE response
to VSC got lost...so his attorney sent all the information again along with the photocopy of the RFE...search for his postings during
the months of March/April/May 2001...

Hope this helps!
