Hi friends:
My attorney notified me that I am scheduled to have I-485 interview in Kansas City. It was a surpise. I have sent a request to Kansas City local USCIS office to transfer my case to Arizona where I live now. I did everything to change my address, including calling National Customer Service number. I guess USCIS Kansas Office did not get my address updated somehow. The interview is in April. With two little kids, I really want to interview at Arizona. It is a lot of trouble for us to bring two little children to travel far away. Aslo, even if we go to Kansas City to interview, immigration officer may find out we live in Arizona, sent us back to Arizona to interview because of jurisdiction issue.

What can I do to cancel the interview appointment in Kansas City, and have the case to be transferred to Arizona office? I am worred if I don't show up in the interview, USCIS may think I abandoned the application. Anyone, please give your valuable suggestion? Your helps are really appreciated!

Don't postpone your interview. It will be considered abandoned if you don't show up. The immigration officers are very sympathetic to people with small children. Take your children with you for the interview.

Yes. I can go to Kansas. But once I go there, they may tell me that I am not under the Kansas jurisdiction. What I can do? Thanks!

Nicejoe: Any news in your situation?... I have a similar one, luckily it is Providence and Boston only an hour away... I talked to the lawyer, went to Boston office, they suggested to show up to the interview, but they did not clarify what to expect... Please let us know what happens in your case, mine is in May...
