I am waiting for my 485 approval. I have got canadian gc. Is there any problem to go and get the stamping there. Any idea I have to collect my GC personnaly or I can give some address and come back. Please advice.

Are you required to go to Canada for stamping? I think it could be done at Canadian Consulate in US.

Even otherwise if you have to go to Canada and do not want to come back immediately, then check with USPS if they can forward your mails to Canada.

Also, make sure that you have a valid AP with you.

Anyway, a lot will depend on your exact situation, better consult a immigration lawyer.

You can travel to Canada if you have a valid H1 or if you have Advance Parole.

If you have I485 pending and you let the Canadians know (they look in your passport and ask you questions and you don't lie), you may lose Landed Immigrant status.

If they do give you Landed Immigrant status and the US finds out (again, they look at your passport, ask questions and you don't lie), they may not approve your I485.

You cannot maintain 2 "permanent resident" status at the same time.

I am not a lawyer so this is my own personal opinion.
 
Thanks esseyeb for the reply. I have valid H1 upto 2004. can I come back after stamping same day or next without any problem back to US. Any idea I ahve to stay back to collect my Gc there.
