need info from people who have actually travelled through france on advance parole or had friends/relatives do that. did they need transit visa for france. when i purchased the ticket, the travel agent asked me to call france consulate in houston to find out whether a transit visa is required. i called them and was told that transit visa is not required if one has advance parole. i then purchased the ticket. today i just thought i would double check again with the consulate in houston and was told that on advance parole a transit visa is required. on both calls, i don't think that they understood what a advance parole was. i have to leave tomorrow for india. however, only my return journey is through paris. will appreciate your help to see what options i have now. thanks

Hi,
My wife travelled on AP through Air France and we had no transit visa. We had inquired and came to know that AP is just like a green card for them and they don't need a transit visa. But Still not sure i rote a mail to french embassy in washington DC, explaning my situtation and got a reply back that no transit visa is needed for people travelling on AP. I carried that reply with me incase the airlines would have asked about it. But nobody asked me anything.

thanks for your reply. i have done the same since last 3 days. didn't get any reply. called today morning to houston consulate. was told transit visa is required if no visa on passport or greencard. was told not required a week back by the same consulate. joyin, if you have your email reply from washington consulate and if it okay with you, can you post it here or email me to kuversa@hotmail.com. thanks

Below is the reply what i got from french embassy.
"For us too advance parole is equivalent to the green card, so you do not need any airport transit visa to stay at Paris Roissy CDG airport while waiting for your connecting flight to India and back."
