Urgent help required

Hi Guys,
I work for a large corporation and they filed my Labor cert., I-140 and 485 (RD 12/31/01,Vermont). I am currently on 7th year H1B (expires in another 3 months) with the same company and have my EAD as well. My current EAD will expire in about 3 months and the company has filed for EAD extension.
Since, the current business climate in the company is not very favorable I have been asked me to be on the bench (leave of absence) for a month or two. The company immigration lawyer is recommending the company to withdraw my H1 and employ me on EAD while I am on leave of absence.

Will withdrawing H1B affect my I485 in any way and if so how?
Appreciate your inputs.
 
In my case, I was working with a contracting firm thru H1. 7 months after I-485 filing, I had to join the client The usual story, they would have let me go because of their policies and my contracting firm told me I need to find a new job.
My contracting firm cancelled the H1, since according to them they are legally bound to do so.
Their immigration department told me it will no way affect my I-485. After that I renewed my EAD and got it also.
I think the cases are similar and so it should be o.k!.
