Urgent Help required!!! Will Use of EAD voids Current status ?

Hello All,

Wishing everyone best of luck for hasslefree approval of GC's.

I am new to this forum and below are the details :

RD : 08/31/02
FP : 09/19/02
Currently on H1 valid upto March- 04.
Received EAD and Adv. Parole for me and my wife.

Recently I applied for Masters and got the acceptence. now my confsion is

Can I study while on H1 ? Or I have to use the Align Reg # from my EAD. If use align #, will this void my H1 ?

If I can study while on H1 and apply for Loan, will there be any problem in that ?.


Please advice, an early reply will be highly apprecited. I have to reply to them on Monday.

You can use either. Advantage of using your adjusment status, 485 status, is you can be cosidered as a resident. It does have nothing to do with your status with INS. The school SHOULD NOT consider you as an international student.


If I can study while on H1 and apply for Loan, will there be any problem in that ?.

No problem in that at all, if they are willing to give you a loan. Again do not confuse your INS status with other financial/social status. You can study, buy a house, get a loan,,even if you are illegal.....
 
Are u currently working and going to study part time or what? H1 is only for work not for full time study. If it is full time course and u are not going to work then u have to use your EAD.
 
Thank you very much Sunny and Rangav for your replies. The class is beginning on this thrusday the 19th of sept. Its a part time course, only on thrusday evening and saturday.


I have some more to mention here, hoping to get comments on that.

After I got the acceptence letter, I received the Forms called FAFSA and FFELP with following instructions.

1. Fill FAFSA online and print the signature sheet and mail to the
address mentioned on that.
2. Fill FFELP form (Master Promisory Note)
3. Fill 2 school's financial aid forms.
4. Copy of SSN, 2001 Tax return.
5. Send items 2,3,4 togethor to school.

Also, I was mentioned verbally that Loans are guaranteed.

The first problem I am facing is on form FAFSA, the question # 13.

Question : "Are you a U.S citizan ?"

Answer : a. Yes, I am a U.S citizen
b. No, but I am an eligible noncitizen.
c. No, I am not a citizen or eligible noncitizen.

I think I have to choose option "b", however, Explanation on the left side of the form doesn't mention the persons with I-94 with H1-B designation.


Second problem, which is bugging me is If I use Align # , will this void my H1-B status ?.


I hope you guys will help me out with your experience.
