Urgent Help Requested! Employer is not giving my H1B papers!

Dear All:
After completing my Masters, I joined this X1 consultancy in OPT. We got a project with X2 company and working with them since(1 year). While in OPT my X1 employer filed for my H1B(April' 08) and he said that I got my H1 approved. He even deducted money for H1B processing. I requested for my H1B papers many times but he has not replied. Now he is not even picking up my calls. Please let me know what shall I do? I don't even know whether I am legal or not. I would appreciate your insights.

Was it submitted through lawyer? I suppose you don't have the receipt number also?

If it was through lawyer, you can contact the lawyer. I wonder if infopass an option?

Also, the employer is suppose to pay for all the H1B expenses.

If you intent is to apply for GC eventually, you should find another employer as soon as you're clear of this.

You are right, I don't have the receipt number and it was filed through his layer. He won't give that lawyer's contact info(it's my presumption). Thanks for your suggestions.
