Guys, my current EAD will expire on Aug.22, I sent the renewal application on May 22 and it's still pending. I am kinda worried that I may not be able to get the new one before Aug 22. First I thought it's no problem since I can get the interim EAD but now it seems they stopped issuing the interim EAD. :( :(

What can I do if I can't get my EAD before Aug.22?
I know there is some 244k thing that you can work with the receipt of the renewal application. Is it accountable and true?
My company seems not aware this fact that my EAD is expiring. Do I need to inform them?

any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

I hate this immigration thing, it just keeps me anxious and worried :( :(

I would also like to know how long does it take to get the EAD. I just sent in my application but not sure when to receive the notification from the Service Center.

Hello waiting824,

From where did you come to know that they have stopped issuing interim
EADs? Myself also applied on July 3rd, mine is expiring in Oct VSC.
I still see in http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/howdoi/ead.htm that we could get interim EAD after 90 days. Is this info. in the website outdated? do you have any other source of info?

TSC, don't worry. You should be fine. I changed the address and that's maybe the reason for the delay

from this forum, it seems that it depends on different DO, some still do issue the interim EAD but some don't. Unfortunately, Washington DC, where I belong to and which is a ridiculous so-called pilot, don't do it anymore.

245k means that you can work without authorization for up to 180 days since your last entry to the US and USCIS cannot deny your I-485 based on this. It does not mean you can legally work with a pending EAD renewal.

No. ;)
