Hello Everyone.
I am on H1B and my company is going through restructurings hence I will be moved to a new federal tax ID while the department name, position, work address and company name remain unchanged.
1. Will the change in federal tax ID put me out of status? OR
2. Is a transfer H1B required? OR
3. Is an amended H1B petition with new LCA required?
(A not as urgent question would be what happens to my I-140 approved with the changed federal tax ID? Do I lose it? - I am waiting for the priority date to become current again for the 3rd preference, but who knows when that will be. My date is Jan 2006.)
