Urgent Help - out of satus for there months!

Hi All,
I did not get my H1 last year because of the lottery :( This year my employer applying in Masters quota.
Now, My OPT expires on June 30, 2008 so I will be out of status for three months. I don't want to go back home to get my visa. Rather I was thinking if it is possible to stay here for two month (July, August) during the grace period and then on last month (September) go to Canada saying I am visiting and then get my H1 stamped there.
What are the chances that Canadian embassy will give me visit visa evethough my OPT expired? Is it a feasible solution?? Its too late for me to apply for F1 (any degree program) now.
What are the suggetsions you gurus have??

Another Solution

Now as I am working till June 30 here and my employer is applying for my H1 in April, is it possible for me to apply for F2 (my husband is in f1 status now and his employer is applying for H1 too in April) which will start from July. This way I can stay here and in october I can just make change of status.
As far as I know I can not apply for status - H1 and F2. But because of my out of status they are not apply H1 as change of status rather somehitng like port of entry will be filed for me.
Is it a possible solution also to change to F2??
