Urgent .. Help on H1B Transfer/India Travel

Hi,
I am on H1B visa. I lost my job a month ago(March 5 \'02).My company said that they will go ahead and cancel my H1.I appiled for a h1 transfer through a consultant on april 5. I did not get my new h1 yet.
     Now can i travel to india in the month of may(For marriage/emergency). My question is here is :Is it risky to go to inida while my H1 Transfer is in progress. Also i was looking at another solution that: i can get H4(Dependent Visa) after marriage, come back to US on H4 and wait for my H1 transfer approval in US.
Can anyone suggest me if this is feasible and what can be done in a situation like this.

Feasible...

Do the H1 transfer. Ask your consultant to (or lawyer) to send the copy of approval to the home country consulate too.
Wait for the approval, get the H1 (& H4) stamp and come back.

Another option is to file for a premium case and thereby you can obtain the approval before you leave the country.
