Urgent help needed

Hi ,
I have got my new passport after applying with Indian consulate, New passport did not had a visa or anything just an stamp containing my old passport number , Issue date and Issue city, One of the persons I know, He went for stamping in canada he was not given visa and not allowed in US, what documents or proofs shall prove that The passport was issued new and Legally residing in US.
I have my old passport photocopies of visa, and letter from consulate stating the lost passport notification with the Indian consulate.
All suggestions are appreciated, I have to travel very soon,
If possible get stamped and go to country.

What documents are needed to prove ?

Question here is what are the documents needed to prove that, I had
a legal visa to come here, apart from the copies of the old passport with
the visa on it. How legitmate would be my trip to canada to get my visa stamped, any suggestion will boost my questions on it.
