urgent help needed

hi,
my wife is a physical therapyst from india who recently passed her exam for Ny board.
She is on H4 visa,she recently found an employeer and they are ready to file her greencard(I140&I 485) in this month.
my question is can we file H1B and Green card at the same time,if yes will it effect the green card.
what do you suggest about filing both.

Yes. H1 is nothing to do with I 140/I485.
H1 will gives you opportunity to start working immediately with your sponser (Oct 1, 2005).
For GC you have to wait until I 140 / I 485/ EAD get approved before start working.
