Me and my wife both case got approved Oct 22,2004. We got both the emails on that day.
India Trip:-
My wife is scheduled for India trip on Oct 28, 2004. Please let me know if she can travel in this scenario  , or she need to get her PP stamp before she leaves this country. Not sure when I will get the approval notice, if I get it before Oct 28, 2004 can I just walk in and try for PP stamping??
The earliest available date for Infopass is now Nov 8, 2004.

Is it safe to travel India after stamping PP

Thanks
Rajibda

Can you let us know which INS office you need to go for stamping?

It looks like you dont have much time for stamping as you are leaving this thursday.

I have read folks saying thye had passport stamping done with the web site message print out. You may want to try that in your nearby INS office.

Its better to consult your lawyer if you can travle using AP.

Thanks,
~Mad

Hi Madman72,
I will be going to Houston INS office for stamping. I know I do not have much time left... I cannot discuss with any lawyer at this point because my case was filed with my previous employers lawyer. If I get the approval notice by next two days I can just try for PP stamping there of I have rescheduler her trip , I will be also going for vacation on Thanksgiving but I had some time to get my PP stamp.

See If you can delay her trip by a few days. that will be the best case scenario . You should get your approval notice by the end of the week at the most. I was a little lucky in that regard since My wife is leaving on Nov 6th and we already have our PPT stamped (as of this morning). If your case was approved earlier in the day, your notice Might have gone out early in which case it was in the mail system over the weekend and you might receive it early this week. if it was Approved late in the day, it would not have been in the mail system over the weekend and you will receive it later this week.

It is absolutely safe t travel on PPT Stamp.

Do you have a Transit visa for the Airport you are going through in Western Europe?

My case was Approved on 10/18/2004 (Monday)- I made Infopass appointments on 10/19/2204(Tuesday) for 10/25/2004 (Monday- this morning). Both our copies and my lawyers copies were received on 10/22/2004(Friday).

In Houston You need to take Infopass appointment , no walk-in allowed

I am sure that may be by the end of this week I might the approval mails from INS. Can she travel by using her AP ??? Her AP is valid till Jon 2005. Is there any problem if she travels using her AP? She will be comming back with me end of DEC. I have scheduled an appointmnet for PP stamping on 8th Nov, will she have any problem at PoE if she is using AP ? Please let me know

I guess , after AOS approved you become a permanent resident of this country and you should have valid stamp/card to enter back to the country.

All your APs/EADs are not going to help you come back once your status is adjusted while you are in the country.

Have her passport stampped with the Online print and take the tickets with you for proof that you need to travel.

rajibda-> I guess, you can take the Web-approval notice (email) and try on wednesday (Oct 27). Try to go as early as possible on wednesday.

Thanks kvpt_mm and Jay_T for your quick reply.
Jat_T -> I will try that on wednesday and will see that if it can be done, I was also thiniking the same thing coz that's the last option I have.

Thanks

rajibda,

Also carry your flight tickets to India and explain them about your situation.

Good Luck!!!

Here is my experience of PP stamping with no approval letter and no infopass appointment.
Went to Houston INS office @6:30am, talked to the security officer at the gate and told him that my wife will be travelling tomorrow so need her PP stamped today.
7:00am I was inside the building and talked to another officer who was issuing the ticket numbers. He asked the approval letter and I showed him the e-mail confirmation he was not familier with the e-mail confirmation he looked several times and then looked into the airline ticket and the itenerary and asked my wife to show some ID and he matched her name. And then he asked what is the emergency I said it was family emergency that she has to go tomorrow. And then the officer issed a ticket number and said since I do not hav Infopass appt I have to wait for a while.
11:45am Went the the counter gave her the e-mail confirmation she asked about ID my wife gave her EAD card and then after looking to her system she said the their system is not updated and unless that is update whe cannot stamp the PP, she said I can see her approval on one screen but on the other screen it is not showing anything about the class of green card, the system will be updated after they dispatch the letter. She then said the my wife can use the AP while comming back there is no problem with that. And she also said that if I get the approval letter then she can able to stamp her PP without any problem. So did not had any luck at this time........... have to reschedule her trip now.....
I already booked two appt using Infopass on 2nd week of november. Hopefully by that time I will get the approal letter by mail.
