URGENT!! HELP needed. GC approved. Can I travel with stamping?

GC Gurus,
I need an expert advice on my travel next wednesday to India!!!.

My GC was approved on 8/3/04 for all 3 of us. Wife and Kid are in India and took AP with them. I got the approval letters today.

What should I do now? Can I go for stamping before travel to India without card in hand? Will there be any issues during the departure at US and Indian airports?
What will happen to the spouse and kid? will they be allowed with AP?
I really appreciate the experiences of anybody who were in the same situation before.

Once you get your passport stamped, you can travell anywhere but not just with an approval letter.
You need to get it stamped for receive the card..But PP stamp is as good as your Plastic Card. Your wife and kids can come back with AP and then do the stamping here. You can also wait to get your PP stamped and go together once you come back from India together with your family(assuming you've AP).
