Hello,we have paid the amount of 404 USD to NVC for each applicant of our family member and we are about to send the further process of sending "APPLICATION FOR IMMIGRANT VISA AND ALIEN REGISTRATION" to NVC. Now my question is; the place of birth of the prinicipal applicant(beneficiary) in passsport differs from the place of birth of him which was filed by the petitioner 10 years ago.(For example; the place of birth of beneficiary in the passport now is xxxx, but the petitioner mentioned the place of birth of beneficiary as YYYY when he filed the case 10 years before) . Do we need to change the place of birth of the beneficiary in passport as like as mentioned during when the case filed by the petitioner 10 years ago? Does the officers in NVC consider that ? pls help..,

Do not continue the same mistake. Write the CORRECT place of birth, regardless of what is on the passport or petition. Include an explanation for the discrepancy.

Is there an obvious reason for the mistake, such as the beneficiary being a citizen or resident of country YYYY although he was born in xxxx? Does the country of birth no longer exist (e.g. Yugoslavia or Czechoslovakia), and the petitioner wrote the name of the country that now surrounds the city of birth? Or is this a Taiwan vs. China thing?

I hope none of the countries involved are Mexico or the Philippines.
