***Urgent Help Needed for H1B stamping ***

Hi,
I lost my passport 2.5 years back. It had F1 visa stamping on it. Once my OPT is done, I converted to H1B status. Now I want to go for H1B stamping. My new passport doesnt have any visa stamping on it.
I got visitor visa denied to enter canada for H1B stamping on the reason that I didnt have any previous stamping in my passport. I even showed them the photostat copies of my lost passport. I checked with Mexican embassy, they also said they couldnt give visa to enter mexico. Now my only option is to go to india for H1B stamping.
Could this(loosing passport and F1 Stamping) pose a serious problem to my H1B stamping.
I have every document required for H1B stamping and I am never out of status through out my stay in US. Also I work for a very reputed insurance company.
I also had tha police report of my lost passport.
I met a lawyer today and she said strictly not to go to india for the risk of getting my H1B stamping denied.
I never expected that loosing a passport will bring me so much trouble. If any body faced the similar situation, please advice me what to do?

I am in similar situation like you. UK cosulate and FedEX lost the package containing my passport.

Please send me an IM or email me because I want to know the procedure. I hope everything worked out fine at the end on your end ( hope you got the new passport)
