Hi to everybody,

my aunt (sister-sister relation) has applied a green card for us (mother+family) 10 years ago. In autumm 2005 we received a letter from the NVC that our processes the greencard have started. Because my aunt is our sponsor/agent, she has paid the greencard fees and other financial stuff. After filling out some formals, our case is now in Germany.(since Mai 2006). As I have called the consulate, they told me that our background-check has started. In July we received a letter from the consulate consering the background-check that my dad has to come and let his fingerprints taken. On that day the mister who took the prints, told my dad that we would receive a letter after 14 days with the interview appointment. Now we have August and we have received nothing :( :( :( :( ! As I have called their yesterday, the lady on the phone told me that the messager of the mister on that day was wrong, because she hasn't received the results of fingerprints yet and moreover it takes two months to order visa numbers from washington!

Now my question is, if somebody has some experiences on cases like that and does it really take so long to order visa numbers  . How will the interview be look like....please help me please... :(
thx!

I concur -- you just need to wait longer. Background checks time frame can vary and so far your situation seems reasonable. Check back with them occasionally, but it all seems normal. Sie muessen nur ein bisschen laenger warten.

Best wishes

I can only assume that you're actually in Germany. Are you German by any chance ?
Which consulate is the one you're entitled to go to ? Frankfurt or Berlin ?

We have german passports and our consulat is in Frankfurt. and we live in germany.

As far as I've heard from Germans going through Direct Consular Process right now, both consulates Berlin and Frankfurt are understaffed due to summer vacations even though this is also the season for plenty of US soldiers and their german spouses/families going to the US.
I can imagine they have a backlog there, which makes me think you'd be better off having some patience.

Good luck

Was ist der Administration Process

Hallo zusammen,

Danke!

Hey I don't want to be rude but many people here use the info so it would be nice that could be in a common language so everybody can understand it, unless you want to send a PM or look for a German US immigration website.

You need all information, both in original and the translations as well certified by somebody that knows both languages.

Thanks!

Unfortunately an exact date cannot be given...he probably told your dad that it was going to be around 14 days but that can go more than that, especially if they need to send that information overseas. I don't see that there is a waiting problem. It just past a month from July.

Normally consular processing can go for up to 8 months or a little bit longer. Things are not as quickly as you may think.

Did your family received the packages for consular processing and all that? If not, then you must wait to received that information so you can gather data, get your medical, police records, etc.

Now many of the time depends on the Consulate so that 8 months can be way less if there are no many cases on the consulate and you gather all the information quickly. But as other posted before July-August is vacation time and it is summer so many people is going to travel to the US and they can reduce personnel. A case can take a little bit more or less of others, just be patient, immigration requires a lot of it.

You can check here for Consular Processing process:

I am sorry sorry!

So let me explain you my case in English.

I wand to know what the Administration Process is? It is something like the backgound check. Because I called in June and the lady on the phone told me that one backgroundcheck has been finished and then another was pending and my dad had to go to let his fingerprints taken. After taking his fingerprints the officer told me that in 10 workingdays we will receive our interview appointment.
Since then I have called two times. Today the lady on the phone told me that the results of the fingerprints have received and our case is going now through the Administration Process in Washington. She couldn't tell me how long it will take until we will get our appointment.
Then she annouced that they still haven't received a check list they have sent us. I asked her which one she means and she just said the one with telling you what you have to send us (e.g. birth certfications, passport copies etc.)! But this list isn't something special it is also published on the site travel.state.gov? Or is it another list?

Thank you sooooooooooooo much for your help,
Byebye

Okay now I got it.

The check list they are referring it's a package with information of things that you must send or bring, I can't remember exactly how it works. Yes, they must send to you that package.

I heard before the word of "administration process" or "administrative processing" and apparently means that they must verify your documentation or info and when that is clear up then you would received your package.

Hang in there,

How are the experiences of people about the administrative processing? How long did it take in their cases? Thx for answers!

I think can be take over 3 months...nobody really knows. You can make a search over the internet about it. The problem that I haven't found almost no cases from Germany so that makes a lot of difference because other Consulates are slower.
