Urgent help -- business sector will be sold

Hi,
I am working in the IT department of my company and my company wants to outsource the IT business to another company, so my department will be sold to a new company by Dec 2002. I will still do the same job in the same location as a contractor of my current company.
I filed I-140 petition on May,2002 and it was estimated I Can file I-485 on Sep, 2002. My question is that do I have a chance to continue my Green Card process when I go to the new company on Dec 2002? If yes, what should I do?

I have a friend with the same situation. Here's what the lawyer told him,

If it's a sell-off, sector/division sold, you will have to redo 140 & 485. You may have to redo LC too depending on the new posiiton details ,location etc...

If it's a acquisition, merger, successor, then it's okay & you can continue...

Please check with your lawyer, INS for more details....
