Hello everyone,
My H1-B visa extension and my wife\'s H4 visa extension was applied at TSC in Aug.2001. Our current visa was expiring in Sep.2001. Before we could get our approvals my wife had to leave for India to attend to a critical family emergency. We received our extension approvals in Jan.2002 and I mailed her original approval notice (with new I-94s etc.) along with a copy of my H1-B approval notice by courier so that she could get her visa stamped at US Consulate in New Delhi. It seems that the courier service has lost the packet and cant trace it. I still have a copy of her approval notice with me. Also I am not sure if this is normal but in my wife\'s case INS also sent me a courtsey notice saying that her H4 has been approved. Which means that I have another original document from INS which shows that she has been approved an extension.
I would really appreciate if someone could tell me if the original approval notice would be required for applying for H4 visa at New Delhi or can a visa be issued just on the basis of a copy of the approval notice. Needless to say that she still has the expired H4 visa in her passport which shows that she has previously been issued a visa in the same category by US Consulate New Delhi. So can New Delhi now refuse her the visa because she does not have the original approval notice.
Thanks in advance...
