My wife and kid (almost 6 yrs old) have gone to Chennai Consulate for H4 and I have sent all the required documents. We married 8 yrs ago. I have been in and out of US for more than 4 yrs. My wife has traveled with me to US twice.
I have sent:
· My Passport copies
· All H1 Approval copies
· Current Pay checks
· W2 for the past 2 yrs
· Employment verification letter
· Bank Statement
But my wife’s and kid’s H4 was refused. The consulate retained all the papers and the passports returned. They have asked her to get back to them with a letter signed by me stating the reason I have quit my last job and what I did in US for a month after quitting this company.
Here is something about me:
· In 2002, I was working for a Consultant company “Moon Consulting” I have done some consulting jobs through this company. I have a visa stamped through this company valid until March 2005.
· In Nov of 2002 I have joined a big south Indian consulting company “XXX”, got my H1 transferred. Worked here until Aug 2003 and was sent to India.
· I worked for this company “XXX” in India and UK for 10 months. I have resigned this company and after approval from “Moon Consulting” got back to US in mid May 2004. And was looking for a consulting position through this company. I was searching for over a month.
· I got a good opportunity with another company “ZZZ” and have got my H1 Transferred to this “ZZZ” company. Joined this company in the end of June 2004.
That’s my work history and my Visa status.
Now the consulate is asking my wife
1. Why I have quit “XXX”? On what circumstances- did I resign or was I fired????
2. What I have done in US from mid May 2004 to end of June??
Questions I have:
· This sounds weird to me as why would the consulate want to know if I have resigned or was Fired?
· Is there any chance the “XXX” company black lists me at US consulate (they were not happy I was quitting).
· And what is the easy way out. Please note that I still have a very good relationship with “Moon Consulting”.
· Can I say that I have worked for “Moon Consulting” for about 1 and half month (have paychecks) and then quit to join “ZZZ”?
As I told you before, the consulate has asked my wife to get a written signed statement from me answering the above 2 questions and mail the statement through TTS along with my wife’s and son’s passport.
Please help!!!!!!!! Your advice is appreciated. I do not want to delay this as they tend to think of more ideas to reject the visa.
