Urgent - H4 process for a Canadian citizen spouse.

Hi everybody,

I need some help to understand what is the process of filing
an H4 for my spouse who is a canadian citizen? I need to know:

1. The process
2. Documents needed (Forms etc.)
3. Fees

On reading some bbs notes, it seems that a Canadian citizen
does not need to go to an American Consulate to apply
for a H4 Visa. They can get that at the port of entry on the
border. What is the process for that? What all documents
are need for that? What form will she need to fill up and take
with her when she goes to the port of entry?

Visa not needed

As far as my knowledge goes, a canadian citizen does no need a visa atall to travel to the US. Why even bother applying for H-4? She can travel back and forth but cannot work in the US.

I am pretty sure I am correct about this. Folks correct me if I am wrong.

Tim,

Even though a Canadian citizen does not need
a visa for travel to US, She needs a Visa to
maintain a status and get a I-94 in order
for me to file her I-485 (AOS).

Just go to the boarder and take your documents H1B (the big paper). I do not remember what I paid but it was less than $100
It is simple. I went through Chaplain QE VT crossing.

Could you please tell me a couple of things:

1. Did you take a bank draft of some specific amount or will
cash suffice?

2. Could you please list the documents you took along with you?

3. Could you please name the forms which you had to fill?
(OS-156? or some other, Affidavit of support? ... where do I get hold of these documents?)
