Hi,
I would appreciate an immediate informed answer to my question -
I have an appointment for stamping at Vancouver on November 5th, however I was let go from the company today (October 31st). Is it still legally ok to go for the stamping or do I have to wait to get a new job and then only can I go.
I have all recent paystubs and I797 valid until mid2009.

thanks.

I would advise that your immediate concern should not be visa stamping but getting a new job ASAP and transferring your H1 to the new employer before you think of going for visa stamping. Just my two cents.

two more cents

the fact that you do not have a job will be discovered by the embassy . you can bet on it. infact put me down for a 100 large on that one. once that happens your goose is cooked. the fat lady will be singing and you will not be able to fix that.

find a job ASAP as advised and DONOT leave for CP. that visa-i797 is worthless to you now. ofcourse you can plead with your current employer to rehire you if thats possible.
