Yesterday USCIS sent a RFE (according to the status online) on my 485 case. I am still waiting the document to be received. I did my second FP on 28-Oct-04. (just 6 1/2 months back).

Also I did an inquiry on my case on 26-Apr-05. I got the reply from USCIS today by mail. That mail says all my security clearance completed and it will be processed depending on the work load.

Today I got a FP notice also by mail. Now I am now confused.

1. First the inquiry letter says my security clearance completed. Then why are they sending the FP notice?

2. Secondly, i thought they won't issue a RFE unless name check, FP completed.

What should I do? If I go for this FP, will it delay my 485 processing?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

donot skip the FP. That way you will abandon your GC application.

It is good that sec. clearance is complete. so 1/2 the job is finished already.

rfe might be for anything trivial like BC, medical cert. or photo or signature.

is this FP code 3 or biometric one or you already did that...

If I remember correctly, FP code is 2 for myself and 3 for my wife. BTW what is the diff between 2 and 3? What's biometrics?

FP code 3 means that they will take your picture, signature and also your fingerprints. I am not sure what code 2 means.
