URGENT for AC-140 == Where does we get our Case Number from ?? NVC or US Consulate in India

I called New Delhi US Consulate and asked for the status and the lady mentioned some case number# . Where will I get that from ???

You have to say yours is a AC-140 case and the consulate itself will assign a case no for you. The case no she is talking about is the one NVC assigns. As your case is not going thru NVC and its AC-140 route, you will not have any case no until consulate assigns one. Good luck.
 
Thanks a lot PRB but does that mean that I don\'t need to have anything from NVC with me
