dear wantmygreen:

i have urgent question to ask you

my wife is a derivative asylee, she applied for green card on jan 2002,

last 2 weeks she got letter from ins that her case transferred to texas,

few days ago she got email says they sent letter requesting additional information,

i thought this must be a request for medical,

today my wife she did the medical ,
i just came home today, i open the mail from the ins,

it was bio appointment,

i cant understand this,

its possible somebody get bio appointment before the medical ?

i have anothe question regarding my self,

i was reading shamshon thread,

if i apply for citizenship now , lets say i got denied, will this hurt mt case in the future when i apply again

In my case, bio and RFI came together. Do not worry, your wife will get an RFI as well. Just do what they are asking and you'll be fine. BIO and RFI are two unconnected things.

To answer your citizenship question... you need to understand that Shamshon's situation is entirely different from yours (and most of us asylees). He is married to a US Citizen and therefore can apply 3 years after getting his GC.

If you do apply early and are denied for that reason, it will not hurt you in any way. Except the pain of having lost $390.

I would honestly ask folks to wait until they have maybe one year or less left before trying to apply early. If you apply right after getting your GC, there is no way you will get approved. But if you apply say 8 months or so before, there is a chance you might get approved especially if you have a 'sob' story of how you are an asylee and have been here as a resident for many years. I am seriously giving it a thought - and just might apply 8-9 months before Aug. 2007. This does not mean that I am in any way endorsing others to do this!
