I have around 9 yrs of IT experience, but have a degree / BS in Architecture.
Do I qualify for EB2 or EB3?

I am applying through PERM.

And I work as a Project Manager.

Since you are a Project Manager you may be able to file under EB2.
But since your degree is not related to your current occuipation there may be some challenges in how you present your case.
Consult a good lawyer.

Not a problem

If you can get a strong referral from the technical follks or from the previous companies, for that matter your professor from the Univ can also write a strong recommendation for you. Attorney should then present your case with solid referrals. It should be ok.

PERM as such is a different story since there have not been any successful approvals so far.

You don't need referrals - the LC simply must not make any requirements on the field of study the degree was in.

That is true...

He is right you may not need them, I was thinking more in terms of 140 etc..later stages...even then it might not be necessary. I was just being more proactive in taking care of unecessary situations...attorneys are the best bet.

No, LC does specify what field of study the degree was in. DO NOT confuse people.

How am I confusing people?

My ETA750A explicitly do NOT state a field of study. Yes, it is an option, but no, it is not required.

Field of study should be specified in PERM LC and it should be closly reated to the job offered, unless employer clearly endorse that other alternate field of study is acceptable. But this may rise questions or audit either in Labor or I-140.

I have seen in many forums that USCIS questioned employers (in I-140)that How Civil/Mechanical engineering is related to IT occupations.
