Urgent!!! EAD Renewal Pls Help!!!

Hi,

My EAD expires in Nov 8, and I have not submitted my renewal application because I thought I will get my GC by Nov and I also had a wrong impression that I can just walk in to the INS NYC to get the EAD renewal right away. God I was so dumb!!!

I am in the process of transfering to another firm in Dec. So I need to get the EAD renewal by the end of November. What should I do? Does anyone know whether it's possible to walk in to the INS NYC to get the renewal?

Please help!!!
 
Only way to know is to walk in and try for interim EAD at NY INS office. Dont forget to apply for one on Monday whether you are trying with NY district office or not.

I am going to try for Interim EAD at NYC INS tomorrow. I know the chance is slim, but I have to try.

In the meantime, I am also thinking about asking the new employer to do an H1B transfer for me. The problem is, I am not sure whether I am still dual status. I have an EAD which I never used and an advance parole which I used twice for reentry. The immigration officer at the entry point stamped "to resume application for adjustment of status". Does that invalidate my H1B status or am I still dual status? If I am no longer H1B due to the use of AP, can I still apply for H1B (and EAD at the same time)?

Any input will be highly appreciated!
 
No Problem.
H1B transfer is a safer option. Only filing of I-9 makes you switch from H1 to EAD, not usage of AP.

What was the response of the INS office on Interim EAD?

Since you already might have researched the whole internet for your problem, you might help me on my question ... thanks in advance.....

My EAD expires in Jan. 03
My RD is Dec. 2001
My H1 expires in Jan 04.

Since I am expecting the approval between Dec and Jan (based on forums and rupnet), I did not apply for my EAD renewal. It was a decision I took based on gut feeling. I am not worried right now, since I do not plan to change my job (looking at the current economic scenario).....But what if at the last moment you loose your job, or you get a very good opportunity, and you do not have valid EAD....what is the recourse to that.....
