If the company name changes after I-824 approval (original I-140 was filed for AOS) and after sending the packet 3 to the consulate but before the interview, is is sufficient to just take the name chage, successor of interest documents at the time of interview or is it better to file for the I-140 amendment and take the receipt of new I-140 to the interview.
Thanks...

Thanks for the reply.....but....

the company was acquired and the new company is a successor in interest. Are there any standard documents for this or is it must to file I-140 amendment?

If you have enough time get the I-140 Amended .

This is only 2 be on safe side and also caryy name change docs. as recommended. I am doing the same thing. for my Interview in Feb

I had the same situation

Fortunately my company name did not change, the New owner is using both brands (its name and my company name) to market itself.
Hence no special docs were needed.
There are more postings on this forum on the same issue.

No Title

Not legal advise:
If same tax id number then this is same company and successor in interest is trivially true, hence no need for amendment of I140.

For merger/acquisition, amended I140 is required and "successor in interest" will greatly help.
