Urgent: CP case : Is the IV-number the same as the A-number

I got my immigrant visa in July. On that visa, there is an IV-number on the top right hand corner of the form.

When I got the I-551 stamp in my passport at the port of entry, the INS officer used the same IV number by just putting an "A" in front of it.

So should I assume that my IV number is the same as my A number? Am I missing something here? There are no other numbers on the visa form and I haven\'t received my plastic card yet.

I need to sponsor someone for a DV (lottery case) and on that form I have to write my A-number.

My 2 numbers are the same

In my case, both number at the right hand side upper and lower corners are the same. They both start with IV.

I have total 4 numbers.
2(1 A#, 1 IV#) at the top and 2(1 A# and 1 IV#) at the bottom.
