Hi,

We got 485 interview at Cherry hill, NJ on Oct 19, 2005, The officer wants Birth Certificate, not the affidavits.(who born after 1970). He gave us 12 weeks time to respond with Original BC. We requested from INDIA.

Some how it is getting delay, I am afriad that we may pass 12 weeks time.

Is there any way that I can get couple of weeks extension for submitting the BC?.

Can I get Infopass appointment to go and meet the officer to get the extension?

What are the other options that I have?

Please reply if any one faced the same situation.

Thanks

Indian Embassay / Consulate also issues Birth certificate with a seal (round stamp) placed on it. One of our friends had similar situation BC RFE, for TSC . They submitted BC issued by Indian Consulate in USA. They got GC in 2 weeks.

You may try that, it is easy, you can go in person and get same day or next day. Check your area web site.

Good luck.

Thanks- Is extention possible..

Thanks, I will try that option.

Can I get extension if I go to local office and explian the situation?

Anyone did this ?

Thanks any way.

The affidavits are not acceptable, if the person born after 1970. You should get the BC from the register, If it is not registered you have to get certificate saying that, it as not registered and submit secondary docs such as affidavits and SSLC records etc..

regarding our case, Birth was not registered (Year was after 1970) . In the register's office they cannot give as not registered certificate. So we have to go to court and tell to judge and he gives the docs, it goes to municipal office, then again we have to the court in the municipal office, again wait for a month. This whole process is taking more than 12 weeks time, that the INS gave us.

That is the reason I am trying to find out any one get extension for this BC RFE?

Thanks in advance..
