URGENT: B visitor Visa for my mother's helper.

Hi,

My mom wishes to visit me to US from India for about 2 months to take rest from her recent heart condition recovery.My father will also be accompanying her.I have had a domestic helper for the past 6 years who has taken care of my mother and therefore my mother would like her to accompany her during her visit to US.This is a 36 year old woman who has kids in india and would not mind coming for 2 months. She is an uneducated woman but my mother's contant companion.

Is it possible for her to accompany my mother ?

My mother has visited US on B visitor visa 2 times in the last 3 years. Everytime she has gotten a 1 year visa to US. Therefore she will need to go again to US consulate in India to obtain a visa to US and hence my question about the domestic help accompanying her to also obtain a B visitor visa along with her.

My husband and i are green card holders..

Click on 'Immigration Forms."
Scroll down and click on the link for form I-765.

The relevant entry in the table is:

(17)(i) B-1 Domestic of Nonimmigrant

In addition, i am not wanting my mother's helper to work here except for the companionship she provides my mother..

The helper has to obtain either a B-2 visitor visa or a B-1 domestic servant visa. I feel that the latter would be easier to justify than the former.

Hi CRS : Thank you for your advice.

You mention that it is advisable to come on a B2 visitor visa. Does this mean,
1. When my parents go for obtaining a B2 visa, she can accompany them and also apply for B2?
2. Will the justification that she takes care of my mother work along with the medical papers of my mother?
3. This lady also has 2 kids and is a single mother...would this be enough to justify?

I meant to write that the B-1 visa would be easier to justify. I have edited my previous post to reflect this. If you sponsor your mother's helper for a B-2, the nature of the relationship between you and her and eventually between your mother and her is bound to come up during the interview. I would recommend being upfront about the whole thing and getting a B-1 visa for the helper.
