While the USCIS instructions call for attaching the original I-94, some websites suggest that we send a copy in case the processing takes very long. How have folks done this? Has anyone's extension been approved recently with a photocopy of I-94 rather than original?

My grandmother's I-539 was extended after submitting a copy of the I-94. This was a few years back in 2006.
