Urgent Advice is needed

We have applied Visitor Visa extension ( B2) but have not got Decision yet .
Our Visa is going to expire soon in Mid of feb. What should we do ?
If we wait to get the decision , even after the visa is expired what will happen in the future . will we be stoped in future to come back in USA for overstaying ?
What are the consequences when we filed for extension and have not heard from USCIS and wait and stay in USA even after the visa is expired ?
Please help

In a similar case with my mother a couple of years back, I requested my mother to stay even though her visa had expired. She left a couple of weeks prior to the 6-month extended period. Guess what, her approval arrived after she left the US. On the flip side, if the visa had been rejected, she would have left immediately upon notification.
