Urgent 485 Spouse Help!!!

I just got married and am filing 485 for my spouse as a beneficiary application. her last name is still maiden name. i would like to change the last name to my family name. should i do that before filing for 485, by applying at the indian consul? or i can do it later...what are the implications?

--------------- if she want to change her last name. then she needs new passport.Affidavit of name change. she can also get the marriage certificate with married name.
*** she can file her I-485 now and can change the name after GC or at the time of citizenship. even if she dont change it does not matter

Add spouse in I 485

vik30000 and ginnu,
I am almost in the same situation. My I-485 is pending and my wife coming to USA next week on H4. I need to add her in my application. Can someone tell what forms and supporting documents I need to fill out for her to add in my application?

----- form I-485, fees+ fingerprinting fee, photographs,form G325 , Notarized Affidavit of support, copy of her passport, copy of her I-94 (front and back), copy of marriage certificate, copy of her birth certificate, Medical report, Copy ofyour I-485 filing reciept. she can file her I-485 only if YOUR PD is current

I am also in the same dilemma. Citizen of Pakistan, my 140 and 485 has been filed 4 months ago and I am planning to get married. The issue is, I don't know that if I apply for H4 visa for my spouse, will she get one before my 485 gets approved? I want to file her AOS before my 485 approval.

Is there a possibility that I apply for her 485/AOS when she is abroad and my 485 has not approved? Will counselor processing work in that case?

Is the time taken by CP same as the time taken for 485/AOS from US?

In case I get married before my 485 approves but am not able to file her paperwork in time, what are my options to get her to US?

I dont want to get stuck in the back hole of family reunion after 485 that takes 4-5 years at present for he family to reunite.

----------- YOU dont file her I-485, SHE has to file her I-485 when she is in US, dont change her name on passport

------------------no new I-485 form or fees, let her get her GC with her present name and later after she gets the GC she can file form I-90 to change her name on the card.
OR
change her name on passport now and then file her I-485 with married name,she need new passport with married name.Affidavit of name change. she should also get the marriage certificate with married name
