Urgent : 140 and I-485 issues

Friends,

I've received my Labour cert last month and need to file I-140 now.

My employer however is denying to sponsor my green card further due to company's economical conditions, so I have decided to pay I-140 and 485 expenses from my pocket.

I would really appreciate if someone can answer following questions.

1. Does anyone know attorney in maryland area who is not expensive and can handle such cases ?

2. Is it possible to apply I-140 and 485 by an individual without help of attorney?

3. With current backlog dates, how long will it take to get an EAD ?


Any information will help and I appreciate your help in advance.

1. Why dont you ask the Law Offices of Rajiv Khanna or Sheela Murthy?
2. Yes, but the I-140 should be filed by your employer. Please note that a case filed by an attorney is well prepared and less likely to have RFE ... moreover in case of an RFE you are left alone to tackle ...
3. Please check the USCIS Visa bulletin dates for monthly updates.

If you have any ability pay issues or company financial issues, it is very difficult to get approval of I140 if you get an RFE. But I am not too sure about its affect. So, you may think about moving to another company and starting from LC again unless this LC has very old PD. Otherwise if your I140 denied later, you will loose lot of time.

Let some one who had this experience also answer your question.

Hi there, did you find a good attorney, who is also cheap in Maryland? If so let me know.

I know of a good attorney in New York City. If you want his address let me know. You can use an attorney in NYC.

my LC was done by Murthy ..i contacted them to file my 140 and 485 but they gave me estimate of about $8000 which i felt was very high. I will contact rajiv khanna as well. Please send me contact of any attorneys that u know.

I think wise decision at this point would be to move to another company and start over again from LC ...

I would pay that much and have peace of mind. I have seen the difference personally and attorneys like you mnentioned are worth..

Post answers to the following questions:
1. What is your PD?
2. What category is your labor EB2/EB3?
3. How big is the company (employees wise)?
4. Are they profitable (by how much)?
