Updated new s for DV2012 22,000 winners .

yes, but you do know the huge mess? The redrawing has allready taken place... so removing thousands of peoples from the poll, then picking the rest to complete the 22k ones then removing some new winner to reach 100k & reasigning case number would take long... heck of a mess...
& since it's a known fact that the first 2 days & the last day are where most peoples register, so if their take on "random" is that any days has the same percentage, that would mean peoples who entered during a low entry day will be advantaged thus "not random" & thus voiding the results... again

day 1 : 200 peoples apply
day 2 : 1 person apply...
so if thoses 2 days have the same chance & you would have to pick 10 peoples, 90% of them would be from the first day... not random enough?
or, case 2

Day 1 : 200 peoples
Day 2 : 100 peoples

both days same probability.. that mean thoses who entered day two will be advantaged since they have less competitor... the way DOS is acting is like they think each 30 days recieved the EXACT SAME AMOUNT OF ENTRIES... NO, i'm sure that day one recieved way more entries than let say day 15...... & I'm also sure that many who entered day 1 placed duplicate... Some because they forgot they applied & other becausee they think they can beat the system

If DOS is reading, you created a huge mess

Sup Forumites,

To tell you guys the truth, I am tired and sick of the Lottery fiasco. Now, i don't even care about anything that will happen. This 2010 Dv lottery has brought much tension, emotional stress, fight, fellow forumites bashing and insulting others. I don't want to nag about it. Please let just forget about this lottery, let's channel all the energy here, to something productive, something that will be of benefit to all of us.

And about July 15. There's a saying that thus goes " What is meant to be, will always be"

I am outta here till after the whole Lottery Saga has ended.

Gud thinking Jayo2k.U just read my mind. They cannot determine the randomness by taking equal number of people during application days. Some days people apply more and some less.So the people applying on the less days are advantaged because of the dates they applied.Making the random impossible as per their explanation after the cancellation.I hope Mr.White and OIG get a hold on your post Jayo2k.KCC messed up bigtime.Mr.white might win this case if he gets facts like these across.

Jayo2k,To tell you the truth,i really dont know what to say about DOS.But if i want to speak about DOS,then i would say that Sometimes the random selection does not selects on a fairness, just as we can see what happen.DOS claimed that it was a computer glitch, which to me i dont believe that.I strongly believe that the glitch was caused by HUMAN error. Someone might have tried to manipulate the computer which DOS dont want to tell us.And an OIG investigation is going on.Well we just have to wait for the outcome of the investigation.

This is just a simple logic.

Yea, the results is still random but what DOS want is that irrespective of days of submission, applicants should still get a chance even though it might be slimmer than that d first few & last days (peak period) of registration.

I mean their should be winners across the 30 day registration people otherwise the whole DV will look like a mess meaning that if someone is not so lucky to submit on some ‘selected’ days, they have loss automatically which is not suppose to be (common sense).

If the winners are spread over the 30 day period, nobody will felt cheated anyway bcos some1 is selected on that particular day you submitted & you were not just luck to win.

But truth is always bitter, lies is always sweet..

DV 22,000 shd probably be termed ‘Days Lottery’.....hun

Common sense Mele, and not doubt no one is arguing with such premise that it should be 'random' across the 30 days. However, the key question is why would the 22k who have been notified get penalised. The fact that certain days applicants got picked could be see as random. I bet there were winners on median days within the 30 days, just that more got picked on the first 2 days and last. It is clearly a huge messed that was not thought through before the cancellation. Like Jakop said, the number of plays on each day is not uniform.

Let all leave the mess for the OIG, DOS and the court to deal with.

The results were only voided.Because DOS found out that the selections were not randomly done..As of the days of selection, the computer only selects winners from 5th and 6th.90% of winners were selected on the first two days.Does that justify a true random selection?
